Social Events

The Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut (BIAC) recognizes that satisfying social activities and relationships make a positive difference in the lives and recoveries of survivors. We bring survivors, their families, and caregivers together and offer opportunities for them to meet new friends through recreational events during the year.

Support Groups also host social events of their own. Check the Support Group page for more information.

Annual Events

Spring Social

This fun event is typically held in April at the West Hartford Meeting & Conference Center, Town Hall, 50 South Main Street, West Hartford, CT. Each year, BIAC staff and volunteers join survivors, their families, and caregivers for a fun night of games, prizes, dancing, and great food. This event is always free to attend, but reservations are required. Visit our Event Page for 2023 information and to RSVP!

Fun in the Sun Picnic

The Fun in the Sun Picnic is hosted by Project Genesis and BIAC in June. This annual summer picnic for brain injury survivors, family, friends, and caregivers, is held at Camp Harkness — a handicap-accessible, oceanfront facility in Waterford, CT. Food and entertainment are always provided; just bring your bathing suit and towel and you’re welcome to join us for some food and fun in the sun. Stay tuned for 2023 information!

Healthy Living Retreat

Our annual Healthy Living Retreat is for people living with brain injury and is typically held in June at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. The day is filled with workshops and activities offering the opportunity to be creative, musical and, most of all, relaxed. Stay tuned for 2023 information!
