State-Administered General Assistance (SAGA) is a DSS-run program that provides cash assistance to those who are permanently or temporarily unable to work due to a documented medical or other related condition and whose income and assets fall below program limits.  The fastest way to apply is online at the DSS website or call the DSS Benefits Center at 1-855-CONNECT (1-855-626-6632) and request they mail you an application.
